There are other alphabet books of saints on the market, but this one takes a very child-friendly approach to the saints, introducing both well-known saints (The Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Nicholas, St. Luke the Evangelist) and more obscure saints (St. Ursula, St. Oda, St. Zoe of Pamphylia) by talking about their relationships with animals. Some saints had pets; some tamed wild animals; some are associated in art with a symbolic animal.
